UniqueWord
Hello y'all, I very rarely post but I read TVF a lot. Today I feel compelled to warn others of the dangerous nature of one of True's offerings. Some background: We live in rural Issan where Internet service is quite bad. For the past 2 years I've done OK with a Dongle from True, but in recent months the signal strength has deteriorated to the point where at times it's unusable. I've made no changes to my computing environment, but I reasoned that maybe my Dongle had become incompatible with the True signal. So we visited the local True shop where I got the first one, and found they have a new model for Bt 990. I bought this new Dongle and installed it. It was a bloody disaster! The User Interface is worse than before, more importantly it was able to bypass UAC to start itself. I have UAC set to max security. Having decided to remove it, I was unable to do so using Control Panel. I had to use System Restore in Safe Mode to do this. I believe this is a potential threat, but do not wish to write more due to the outrageous defamation laws here in LoS. One tip is to always set a Restore Point when doing anything involving Huawei s/w. Regards, UW.
Jiu-Jitsu
Seems that you are five years behind the curve: http://pr.huawei.com/en/news/hw-093761-e353-data-card.htm Worse still, you really should have spent your money on something more up to date, such as a MiFi; http://consumer.huawei.com/en/mobile-broadband/mobile-wifi/features/e5330-en.htm Would have sold you my spare for 1000 baht.
