Deportation and Re visit to Thailand.

Featured Replies

I went Thai for trade show and get on arrival visa. I had another roadshow to join it I over stay 2 days. Same trip we visit to Combodia and on the way back transit from (arr city airport 10 pm and flight to India 2 am). They don't allow me to take flight and deported. I have other travel trade fair in September. Please advise me weather I apply visa in India or get on arrival. I am a business man and my company registered in India.

Anything stamped in your passport?

How about you scanning what is written in Thai, someone here can translate it.

Are you an Indian national?

Visiting Thailand on tourist visas for the purpose of attending certain trade shows is allowed. However, I think your overstay raised suspicion in Thai immigration's minds that you were actually engaged in other forms of work in Thailand. Do you have a number of other visits to Thailand in recent years that could raise such a suspicion? I am surprised they did not allow your transit. Maybe, for some reason, they doubted you would actually take the onward flight.

In your position, I would definitely not travel without a visa. Even with a visa, Thai immigration might still deny you entry if they are not satisfied your visit is for a qualified trade show, plus regular tourism purposes. Verify that the show is MICE/TCEB approved. It would be prudent to have paperwork showing where you will be staying, and that this is consistent with attending the trade show.

I got letter , in name of my company to attend fair.

You were denied entry under section 12 of the immigration act.

Paragraphs  "2. Having no appropriate means of living following entrance into the Kingdom." and "9. Having no money or bond as prescribed by the Minister under him"

I suggest you apply for a non-b visa for business purposes before attempting to enter the country again and have at least the equivalent of 20k baht to show if asked for it.

OP - @chachapoya

Did the immigration officer ask you to show funds?

After forcing you to miss your flight, were you taken to detention or only taken to departures, and forced to buy a new ticket there?

Having a letter means absolutely nothing.

I worked with Cdn Immigration in Pakistan and the letters that people brought were hilarious.  One guy was going to see a doctor in Calgary the morning that his flight landed in Toronto.  He could not understand why he was refused.

As has been stated the best thing for you to do is apply for a visa in India.  If you get the visa you are probably safe but if you come here without anything you could be asking for trouble not just immigration but also your boss if he is paying your flights.

You need to carry some cash with you , to show them that you are able to support youself  in Thailand during your stay

@op I had more than 5000 usd cash and credit cards, they let me wait in departure area and ask me to buy new ticket. I was at Danmuang airport and very few flight from there to India. Later airline guy told me they write no sufficient money, but either they don't ask or its trouble of communication.

I attended both and that's why I over stay. But immigration officer very poor in communication. Please advise me should I aply visa in India?? what category ?? I always prefer on arrival visa before. What paper I must keep with me ?? and anything important please suggest.

They used not having financial proof on the denial of entry stamp but there could of been reasons for denying entry.

I think they may of been of the opinion you were abusing the privilege of getting visas on arrival and the overstay you had on your last one did not help.

I suggest you at least get a single entry tourist visa before your next trip.
