Current multiple entry rules

Featured Replies

Can someone please confirm the latest rules for multiple entry tourist visas. I have read that you must have £5000 in your bank account for 6 months to qualify, is that correct?

I am planning to come soon for approx. 5 months but haven't had £5000 in my UK bank account for 6 months continually.

I stayed in Thailand for 4 months last year on a multiple entry tourist visa with no questions about my finances!

The rules actually applied depend on where you apply. Usually, they are a little less onerous when applying at honorary consulates. Decide where you intend to apply (must be in your home country) and ask them direct what they are willing to accept.

If you got a visa before November of last year you did not get a multiple entry tourist visa. You may of gotten a 2 or 3 entry tourist visa. Two and 3 entry tourist visas are lo longer available.

You could get a single entry tourist visa that would a allow a 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 days at immigration. Then if you wanted to stay longer you could go to a nearby embassy or consulate to get another tourist visa.

Thanks ubonjoe, that is correct I did get a 3 entry visa in October last year. How easy is it to get another tourist visa in Thailand, how many times can I get another visa  & what are the requirements? I will probably be staying in Pattaya so I guess its a trip to Bangkok for a visa?

You cannot apply for a tourist visa within the country.

From Pattaya Vientiane Laos would be a good location to get a single entry tourist visa. You could get 3 single entry visas without a problem there. All you would need is your passport, application form and 1000 baht for the fee to get the visa.
