Two Pakistanis arrested for conning Indian nationals with promises of work

BANGKOK:-- Police in Bangkok have arrested two Pakistani nationals who were part of a gang preying on Indian men. They had been taking money by offering jobs to the Indians through a website that was operating in the sub-continent.

EC issues warning of “can do” and “cannot do” on referendum day

BANGKOK:-- Voters are warned not to “selfie” themselves with their smart phones at the polling units when they cast their votes this Sunday because the practice is illegal, said election commissioner Somchai Srisutthiyakorn on Friday.

Two Dhammakaya monks face arrest for possessing military barbed wire

Khlong Luang district police have decided to take legal action against two Wat Dhammakaya monks and two lay men for having in their possession military-grade razor-sharp barbed wire which was installed at the temple to prevent officials from the Department of Special Investigation from entering the temple ground a month ago.

Thai economy feels sting from political uncertainty

 

BANGKOK (AP) — Thailand's stagnating economy is unlikely to get much of a boost from a referendum Sunday on a new constitution proposed by the military government, which took power in a 2014 coup. A "yes" vote could, however, tamp down some of the uncertainty that has plagued the country over the past half-decade of instability.
