Village clean-up launched after Nan flash flood

NAN, 8 August 2016 (NNT) – Military and highway workers have carried out a village clean-up in the northern province of Nan following a flash flood. 

Roads and houses in Khun Nan Sub-district were cleared of dirt and wood debris. Community leaders and residents also took part in the cleanup. The torrent on Friday damaged three houses, farming areas, machinery and green houses. 

Residents in disaster-hit areas were evacuated to safe places. Thirteen muddy routes are now usable. Heavy clearance machines are on standby in the event of further heavy rain.
