overherebc
Can anyone explain why an oil filter bracket has a vacuum line attached and where the other end should attach. On mine it's been disconnected when the engine was taken out and now no-one knows where it should go. Older Mercedes 110 series engine.
sirholly
most likely not a vacuum line, but the oil pressure gauge line going to the instrument cluster in the dashboard

Unlees in the past someone decided plastic was good enough to do the job. See attached photo, the part is dead centre. Thanks, it does give me something to go ahead on. overherebc
Turns that the filter housing has been changed and is not original for that engine and it is for oil pressure. Will re-do with a better connection. Don't really fancy most of the engine oil behind the dasboard.
