This photo of female tourist in a long, light dress rendered translucent when it became wet was taken at a landmark Phuket temple, Wat Chalong. It was widely shared for public criticism on Wednesday.

Hotel worker arrested for turning blind eye to deadly sexual assault

BANGKOK — Police have accused a hotel receptionist who allegedly stood by and did nothing as an accessory to the death of a 19-year-old student brought unconscious to the hotel, where she was raped and murdered.

Thai Telephone numbers set to change to accommodate rising number of users

To increase the available telephone numbers in Thailand, both landlines and mobile, by 550 million, the nation’s telecom commission has plans to insert the digit “1” in between the two-digit prefix of landline numbers, effectively changing the number for every landline and allocating some of them to mobile.
