On August 8, at 1.30 in the afternoon, Mr Sang Wook Kim, a Korean tourist, had his bag snatched on Beach Road, Soi 10, Pattaya. 

 

He reported a loss of bht 4,000 in cash, a Samsung S6 Mobile phone worth Bht. 25,000 and his personal travel documents.

 

An investigation, led by Pol Maj Gen Surachet Hakphal, a Commander of the Tourist Police, reviewed the CCTV footage of the area and identified the suspect’s white Honda Wave motorcycle.

A good news story at last! So far and few between over the last 24 hours of terror. 

 

Well done to the police in this particular case.

Yeah,  the BIB seem to be going that extra mile at the moment, the date rape case springs to mind. 

....the problem is they will not serve 2 years minimum as they should....

Who says they should? Perhaps you should apply to hep writing the Thai Constitution. 

I wonder how much the victim paid to stir Pattaya's police into action.  My family were asked for 10K despite the culprit being delivered to the police station in Jomtien.

Surely they weren't Thai? Very odd. I hope they refused or else they are encouraging this practice.

Not unusual for the police to ask to be motivated.
