A US father has used his excavator to trash his teenage daughter's luxury car after catching it being driven by a boy he did not approve of.

In what will surely be an anecdote he will tell for the rest of his life, older brother Kaylor Card filmed his father Mike destroying the red Audi with a compact excavator in Warne, North Carolina.

The video was posted on Facebook yesterday and has already been viewed more than 70,000 times.

 

"Yep! When a dad has to prove a point! #DADDYNOTHAPPY," Kaylor wrote.

The elder Mr Card used the heavy machinery to smash the Audi's roof, windscreen, doors, bonnet and boot before flipping it several times on their rural property.
