Vaping in Thailand.

Could anyone out there advise me as to the legality of vaping in Thailand? I have a daughter and her partner coming over to visit who both vape and are concerned as they have heard it is illegal over here. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Actually it is illegal to import them now, I believe bringing them in for personal use counts:

If one gets through customs, possession is a bit risky too - http://news.thaivisa.com/thailand/e-cigarettes-light-up-and-face-years-in-jail/146087/

Buddy of mine in pattaya does it…but on the QT….maximum discretion necessary….no doing it front of cops or where you will attract attention…definitely not in non smoking environments….hotel room or poolside should be fine.

He tells me how he brings his gear in…..the trick is to keep everything as separate and disassembled as possible….break down the tank into the smallest components….remove batteries from the unit….

Unit and tank scattered in your checkin luggage….liquid in small plastic bottles not exceeding 30ml in your toiletries bag…..batteries NEVER to be checked in…..only in a protective case in your hand carry.

Never travel with vaping units that have built in batteries.

Another  post devoted on how to break the law in Thailand. No wonder the Thais think less and less of foreigners.  If it's illegal, then it is, just respect the rue of law, even it you do not agree with it.  Can't be that hard.

As per the topic linked to above discussing this:

E-cigarettes - "light up" and face years in jail

Looks like that makes discussion of this as discussing illegal activities:

3) You will not post about activities or links to websites containing such material that are illegal in Thailand. This includes but is not limited to: gambling, betting, pornography, illegal drugs, fake goods/clothing, file sharing of pirated material, pyramid schemes, etc. Discussion of the above is permitted only as news items, but never as a "how to" topic.
