I fear my recent question in the correct section will be lost so apologies but am asking again in a new thread

How long after expiry date can 5 year car licence be renewed?  Mine expires early September but I will be overseas &  will not be back until late September

Thanks

If expired for more than 1 year you have to redo the theory test.

If expired for more than 3 years you have to redo theory and practical test.

You can extend your 5yr license now!

Up to three months in advance.

(I found this number confirmed at other posts)

It is never 6 years, but always from day of application till next 5th birthday (so can be 6 years minus 1 day, minus 30 days or minus 364 days).

Ouch.

After rereading your post: I seem to have had a hallucination :D

You come back end of September this year.No problem at all.

And as described in previous post it will be valid until 5th birthday following (about 5yr 11mths in your case).
