BANGKOK: -- The National Legislative Assembly (NLA) will vote whether to remove former deputy interior minister Pracha Prasobdee from his ministership after the National Anti Corruption Commission (NACC)  gives final closing statement against him today.

NLA president Pornphet Wichitcholchai said that the nation assembly would hear closing statement from the NACC today against the former deputy minister.

After the closing statement, the NLA members will vote whether to remove him.

Normally the vote will be held the next day after the closing statement.

The former deputy minister Pracha Prasobdee was accused by the NACC of interfering with the Market Organization Board’s actions against a former director accused of corruption.

According to the NNT, the NLA asked the NACC to explain its findings and the reasons behind the accusation while asking Pracha to explain his actions, which were construed as interference in an anti-fraud investigation.

The NACC insisted that Mr Pracha had communicated with the Market Organization before he was officially confirmed as a minister, while the former interior minister said that he had the authority to work according to law without interfering with anyone’s work.
