OMG what type of work pays so bad that you have to stay at places like the rat infested slum of Nirun or similar in Pattaya.

Why would you even consider staying in the sleaziest ghetto in the universe in the sleaziest accommodation. Sorry but I see alcohol abuse big time in your future.. It's just the way it is

My job pays me well, but i certainly wouldn't want to spend all my money on a room which i'll just be staying for a few hours every day. Regarding Nirun or other apartments then i haven't visited them so i have no idea about the place. It's internet search.

If you have a place in mind then kindly feel free to help, and my future is hopefully bright with the blessing of god.

Take note that what is now a B400/night room can suddenly get much more expensive when high season arrives, especially around Christmas and new Years.  You'll be better off with something nailed down by the month.

Also be aware that rent isn't the only issue.  Many apartments mark electricity way up, some more than B10/unit and if you use AC, that can jump your actual costs by several thousand.  Water rates are also frequently inflated, often flat-rated at amounts more than 10 times the actual usage. Some "furnished" rooms will charge extra for a full size bed, TV, or fridge.  You also need to ask is internet included along with cable TV? If you have a smartphone, check the strength of the wi-fi signal in the room you are looking at.

Electric shouldn't be much more than B6 a unit, water B150/mo.

Thanks dave, I'm taking everything you mentioned into account. I'm not very keen into having a tv with cable since i watch most of it on my laptop. i'll have to find a way to fix everything into my monthly budget. :-)

One good tactic is to try to find a private condo rental.  I think there are usually some to be had in Narin.

The advantage is that the utilities like electricity and water are billed at the normal rate, not marked up like in an apartment bldg.

I'll be checking out the place on the 1st September.  Making a short visit to see all the places i've locked down. Thanks dave for all the help. I really do appreciate it.

I can recommend Pattaya Plaza Condotel , Sukhumvit 59, not far from central road , they even have a big swimming pool there.

You can get a studio for 5000 baht in 12th floor last time I checked. With a balcony and view over the city .  I would check it out if I were you.
