Its just a marketing thing. For most brands (eg BMW, Audi, Benz etc), every model has a lifespan for about 7 years or so. And usually its a face-lift introduced about halfway. Sometimes they do some production changes to car from year to year, but from a customer perspective, thats not import anyway..
