BANGKOK, 22 August 2016 (NNT) - The Prime Minister, Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha, says the government will strictly follow the country’s reform roadmap while urging citizens not to worry about a non-MP prime minister.

The Thai premier who is also head of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) said that the current government came into power only to see the country move forward, adding that it is not trying to entrench military rule in the administrative system.

He said although there had been ups and downs, everything was moving in a forward direction.

The government only has a limited amount of time to reset the button, he noted, reiterating that Thais should forget the past and start a new journey together.

He also gave a strong assurance that the government will pursue the country’s reform goals and asked members of the public not to worry about something that has not even happened such as a non-MP prime minister.

Well of course he will follow the "roadmap": he drew it and it is he who amends it as he sees fit. He decides the destination,  decides the route to take and sits in the driving seat. The rest of the nation is crammed in the back of the truck, guarded by his soldiers.

Sit back and enjoy the journey! But be careful, it might get bumpy.

The PM said forget about the past,   Those that ignore the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it.

The PM said  "don't worry about a non MP Prime Minister".   IMO  that's something every one should worry about.

The shame constitution that had banned of any public debate or discussion and only had 30% of the people's approval while most people abstained from voting will eventually be thrown out.

Your legacy will be as all junta leaders in the past.

Prayut has proven himself a liar. His name is connected to the word liar now and forever. Too late for him. He and his cronies have lied constantly. Liar!

Reform? What reform?

Reconciliation? What reconciliation?

Reduce corruption? When? When he submits his own unusual wealth for examination?

This man is, as Alive rightly said, a liar. Not smart, not competent, not complicated. Just a liar, for reasons we all now know about, and an agenda which has nothing at all to do with advancing the welfare or development of Thais or Thailand.

Don't worry... There will be no coup... I have no interest in being PM... Single gateway has been shelved... The chips on your cell phones will only be for your protection... There will be an election next year.... Or wait, next year... Or wait, maybe in 2 years... The draft charter will be a fair process that only we and those who support us are eligible to speak about... We're only arresting students for their protection against an angry mob (consisting of our own officers)... We're just trying to show them the right way (our way) to see things... Article 44 is here to protect citizens from the boogeyman, never mind that bombings continue... This is Thai style democracy and simply misunderstood... There is no concern over a non-elected PM, after all look at how I turned out! Polls run by organizations which we created can confirm my greatness, let me show them to you...

So we have to listen to this verbal diarrhoea from the head clown every two years until he falls off of the perch, how enthralling.

It isn't compulsory to listen. When he comes on TV my wife and our neighbour simply turn the TV off and ignore him.

If there are posts on TVF by or about him that you don't like or don't want to read, simply ignore them and move on.

It is that easy.

Just keep following that dream Prayut!

"... forget the past and start a new journey together...."

But,  be very, very careful - the reconciliation gap that YOU and the junta have created is now probably too wide to bridge!

The PM would be well advised not to construe the silence coming from the north and north-east as being tantamount to an approval of his or his administration's policies.  Only a fair and honest national election will adequately gauge just what the electorate think of him and his policies.  As an illegal regime the only thing this administration can do that has any legitimacy is to call a national election.
