I have a valid work permit until 31st March 2017 however immigration will not issue a new non-b extension because we haven't yet received the new teachers' license waiver - 2 years ago no problem but they are now asking for the transcripts and it will take at least 3 weeks to get the problem fixed.

The problem is the visa extension ends of 1st September

Is immigration's approach correct ? We still have valid work permits!

If their approach is correct can I get a 60 day extension by using my children's birth certificates? and then extend again based on working when the teachers license waiver arrives?

thanks

You can apply for a 60 day extension to visit you Thai children. Then apply for the one year extension when you have the required documents.

No need for a new non-b visa. The 60 day extension is an extension of your original visa entry like the one year extension is.
