Cracks Underneath Ceramic Sink

I've just fitted a brand new ceramic sink,filled it up to test it and there were 3 fast drips

coming from underneath the sink.

When I looked there were 3 tiny cracks on the underside of the sink.

 

What can I do about this.Use a product to seal it,but what product.

I have wall putty and polyurethane silicone sealant or I could go to Homepro.

 

A brand new freakin sink.I bought 2 taps as well,the both broke when I was fitting them.

should have paid for them to Supply, fit and Test it all, for you...

with a big box store ie global house etc  if you have the receipt no problem with returns

 

just for interest what is a ceramic sink?? sounds like a case of miss selling 

 

for resealing i think only expect long term the worst   unload the products as soon as poss

 

 

oh yes good luck  as for getting them to fix  probably end up with more leaks than you have now another case of buyer beware

Go and get some 2 part epoxy resin (glue)....Make sure the Sink is COMPLETELY dry and when you mix the glue keep wiping it in with your finger until you are sure it has filled the crack. Then leave it a min of 8hrs to have a good cure....that will work.

You can fill the cracks but if they are not somehow stopped drilled at the ends of the existing crack they will continue with use and it will start leaking again.

 

Fit a new sink and use the old one for a spaghetti strainer!

wayned....good one!....I hope the hell he doesnt try to drill (and i know what you mean)....he may end up with 2 half's instead...lol.

tricky stuff to put a drill near if you arent sure how to do it.....

in my book its a no brainer, buy a new sink.

I bought what I would say is an "expensive" basin and semi ped at 2500bt.

most sinks I looked at are between 500bt and 1500bt. the pedestal at 900bt is often more expensive than the sink.

stop pissing about and as the above poster suggested get your receipt and take it back, 30 day returns most places. if you cant do that, buy a new sink.

 

having broken 2 taps, it sounds like you are a bit hamfisted at diy?
