August 24, 201610 yr Apple has had a bug in iOS 9, which has continued in iOS10 Beta I am using now. Every time I try to set my home location, it always sets home about 5 km from my real house. Have tried using addresses, or putting pins down, even tried to do on my Mac, and then sync with phone. Still can't. Annoying - cause I like to use Siri "remind me this or that when I get home", and it never reminds me cause it thinks home is somewhere else ( maybe Siri knows of a gig I have that I forgot about ) tips appreciated
August 24, 201610 yr Um do u just want to pin your house on a map :/ ? you can use google map and pin ur house it will be saved on your gmail account you are using while doing the marking. You can use it as a GPS to take u home or show others where ur house is by sharing a link of the location with them. Google map can be installed on your iphone. you can use google map on safari if u dont want to install google map In google map (computer or laptop) 1.) click show ur location (to locate ur house or search for something famous e.g. supermarket around then move around to find ur house) 2.) when u left click on the location there would be a pop up. Now click on the number or address (not the image) 3.) Menu would then pop out from left just click add a label (name) and click save if u want (shows a star on map) 4.) when u want to find ur mark on the map just search the label you have given and click directions if u want google map to lead u there or click share to get a link that ur friends can use to get direction to ur house Edited August 24, 201610 yr by Kailung

In Apple you can sent your home and work location , so in theory, if you were using Apple maps ( theory cause no one in their right mind would use Apple maps in BANGKOK ) , you can dictate to Siri " remind me to go exercise when I get home ", and when you get close to home, your iPhone will alert you.Problem is I have tried to set home, I can set it...... but my iPhone thinks my Hom is 5km away. Real weird bug
August 24, 201610 yr :/ google calendar (it can alert u about events u've set to do) might serve u what u want combined with google map...perhaps um if u found apple to annoying and didnt find a solution perhaps u can try google lol
August 25, 201610 yr Where in iOS9 do you set your home location? I've just returned to Apple after several years with an Android phone and am relearning everything Apple. I just noticed on the Notification screen that ""Right now, it would take you about 3 hours, 58 minutes to drive home." when I *am* at home.
August 25, 201610 yr Author In maps you can set it I think, or in contact list. In contact you set your self as "me" , and can set home and workBut - there is no point, cause apple maps still suck, even in iOS 10Only reason I want this is I like telling Siri to remind me of things when going home - so need to set home location Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect
August 30, 201610 yr Author Finally figured out the bug - there is no work around. Unless you have a clear street running past your house which is in Apple maps, the Siri instructions "remind me when I get home bla bla" will not work. If you live in a village, which it does not know, it takes the Khet or Kweng or Post code. So if you live in a village of lets say Bangrak, it will take Bangrak as your home, which could be 5 km away. Work around - there were way points near my home like a 7-11 which I pass on the way home, so setting that as "home", it works. So will get reminded of things when almost home. I am on iOS 10..... so maybe iOS 11 or 12 one day they will fix this (same bug as IOS 9 )
