I think I am aiming this question at UbonJoe. I am coming up for my retirement extension next week. I was thinking of doing marriage instead knowing that it is more complicated etc. but mainly to be able to get a work permit. I am planning on starting a non profit foundation to help bring some training organizations here to help Thais and farang. I would be purely a volunteer within the foundation usually only when a training was happening here in Thailand. Is it possible to get a temporary work permit from time to time while being on a retirement visa.....or do I have to be on a marriage visa? Also can I get temp work permits for the people coming in to lead the trainings, and how would I do that? Thanks in advance. Anybody wanting to throw in their cheap shots about helping anybody, please keep them to yourself and just mumble them into your Chang.

I think your find other forums relating to this question to post and to post in pub well l never.

You can only get a work visa on marriage extension not retirement,  that's all l know so now l'll just go back now to mumble in my Chang.

Hi I am on a Non B visa provided with the help of a letter from TPTI which allows me to work in Thailand on a temporary work permit whenever conducting training at MOGIT. TPTI require 48 hours notice on each occasion.

It is possible to apply for a 15 day work permit for urgent and necessary duties. See the WP10 application form for more info. http://wp.doe.go.th/wp/images/form/Form_tt10.pdf

I am certain you would not be able to apply for one with an extension based upon retirement. It would not be a problem if you were on an extension based upon marriage.

For those from outside the country they would need at least a non-o or non-b visa to apply for it.

"You can only get work visa on marriage extension"

Is that like two visas stacked on top of each other? Or you mean you can only get a work permit if you are married? ;)

Enjoy your beer...

I think he means that on retirement a WP can never be granted.

On Marriage extension a WP can be granted.

A WP is not a visa

Thanks Joe for the info. This helps me clarify my choice for next week.
