Absolutely wonderful dogs.  I raised Goldens and Labs here for years but now have a herd of adopted Thai Mutts.  My favorite Golden was my Avatar, he died about three years ago.

I live in farm country, last house on a dirt road in corn and sugar cane fields,.  If you do have any problems finding a good home PM me and I'll arrange to pick him/her up.  It'll enjoy living here free run with walks to the fish pond about 1 kilometer away for a swim twice a day and choice of sleeping area in the house at night..

The OP post is not true.  He did PM and told that the price was 4000 baht.  He  said that he bought it for 10000 but his wife was willing to sell it for 4000.  Unfortunately it's the puppy that will suffer from his BS!

WayneD,

I really respected your first post but lost same with your second.

Its a lousy $100 for a lab.

I will spot you 2,000 of it.

I have been a lab man all my life and hate to think of one going to the Soi when a responsible dog owner like you could develop that pup into a great dog.

PM me if you are tight.

I agree that the price is great.  I've raised Goldens and Labs all of my life, look at my Avatar. The first post that I made was an offer to take the dog if he didn't find a home for it.  I live in Nakhon Sawan Province and it would mean a 600 kilometer round trip drive to pick it up which I am willing to do but now he wants 4000 baht on top of that.

It's the old "bait and switch" scam and I don't like it whether it's a business or an individual.  The second post was just a warning to others.

I think you are making much ado about nothing.

I would rather he charge $100 to keep some Thai from getting this dog and releasing it to the Soi.

You are now the one doing a disservice to the pup. You are now the one making this into something bad.  Its a $100--its not like he is trying to make a profit, he is still taking a considerable loss and someone is still getting a considerable deal.

Your opinion is held highly on TVF and you are now hurting this pup by your wrong headedness.

I have to agree with Wayned. The post was misleading, it looked like the pup was free to a good home.
If the OP cared about the dog losing a few thousand baht when he is moving country shouldn't figure.

If it was me I'd be happy to find a good home, money would never come into it.

The OP originally bought the dog, he has a responsibility to rehouse it to the best of his abilities.

People are giving grief to someone who made an offer to care for the dog that the rest of you didn't.

If people feel so strongly, how about some of you step up with more than insults and trying to make the man look stupid and offer the dog a home.

Free cute , smart , Labrador,(beige color)

From the first line of the OP's post, says it all.

Wayne id a big boy and does not need anyone to hold his hand here.

This is a thread about a 2-month old pup that needs a good home and Waynes ego is suggesting people don't tske the pup.

I already offered to pay half the cost for Wayne. Why don't you foot the other  half and then Wayne can give this pup a good life few others could.

Charging a small amount to re-home is the norm these days and it keeps it from going to someone intent on harm.

The OP also added in the advert that he "was leaving soon" so add these two comments together and it does appear to me that he was leaving soon and wanted a de end home for a free puppy. All very misleading

I agree that his post is misleading, however it is about an available puppy that needs a good home. My dog  died a few months ago and I have been hesitant about getting another one. We have two and a half rai completely surrounded by a two meter high block wall so another dog would have plenty of space to run. Paying 4,000 baht would not be a problem. The logistics is a problem. I live upcountry in Loei province.

Wow,  I really stirred up a hornets nest!  My only intent was to let everybody know that the OP was misleading and he really wanted 4000 baht for the puppy.  Now I'm a pauper and have lost respect with some of you but everybody is entitled to there own opinion.  When I told him that I wasn't going to pay the 4000 baht, he never responded so I sent him another email.  Here's what it said:

Have you found the puppy a home?  Is it male or female and what is it's name.

Having said that I want the puppy to have a good home, you really pissed me off when you advertised the dog on TV as free and then when you emailed me you wanted 4000 baht and then took the easy way out and blamed it on your wife.

I will agree to paying you 4000 baht for the puppy, but you have to meet me half way.  As I said it is 600 kilometers round trip from my home to the area that you live .  I will agree to pay you 4000 baht if you bring the dog and meet me halfway.  We could agree on a time to meet at the Big C mall on Asian Highway 1 (32) in Ayuttaya.  That way your wife would get her 4000 baht, my travel time and navigation in an unfamiliar area would be reduced and the dog would have a good home.

Tomorrow is great since it is Sunday.

I have not heard anything from him yet, but I just sent it today.  Have to wait and see, but I expect no response.
