I had a bad experience today at Mesai border. My visa will expire tomorrow, and I wanted to cross the border and return to get just 15 days. But when I arrived they told me I can't pass to Myanmar, because visa runs are not permitted any more. . I was directed to request for a second extension of 7 days for 1900 THB. 

 

That border has been closed to out/in visa exempt entries for some time.

 

What visa entry do you have?

 

If you don't qualify for an extension of stay you could get an extra 7 days to leave the country at immigration for 1,900 baht. You'll need to go tomorrow at the latest if that's the last day of your current permission to stay.

The Chiang Khong border with Laos do still allow out/in visa exempt entry. As long as you don't have a history of visa exempt entries you could try there.
