The BBC has recently released their list of the 21st century’s 100 greatest films. It might be a bit premature, since the century is only 16 years old, but we were proud to see that one of our own Thai films, “Tropical Malady” took the number 52 spot.

"In Thailand, the film screened for just 10 days at the Siam Theatre." Wikki.

I watched the movie, as I have always been a Tarantino fan and he gave it great reviews. Just goes to show, even the greats can get it wrong sometimes.

Oh, and here I thought it was going to be, Nong Does Cobra Gold.

Oops.

People like it so stop pulling it down

It's an interesting film to be sure...if you liked Fellini's hand held camera style and the invasion of dreams into reality, you'll find it very appealing...

what I find interesting is that so many of the new wave film makers in Thailand developed their style seemingly independently of the new wave of film makers in Italy and France..my favorite Thai movie so far is Ploy, and of course the martial arts films can be amazing...if anyone has a solid recommendation of a Thai movie, I'd really like to know...

Anyone watched Uncle Boonmee before? I can't seem to find that movie available anywhere, I was told its never released on dvd.
