Apps that you cant do without.....

Featured Replies

Used the search and yes few came up but with new Apps galore produced daily what would you say is a must have !!   I have many that without someone suggesting would never have known existed

I like having an easily accessible "Note Pad" app...they usually look like a sticky note pad.  Great for notes to myself, shopping lists, quickly being able to write the name of a shop or restaurant you want to remember, ect. There are several you can actually write on, using a stylus or fingernail.

I've also been finding "Google Translate" very useful.  Once I learned to copy and paste text from my phone into it, I don't have to wonder what those messages from AIS & True say...now confirmed to be useless trash.

"XE" currency exchange rates: easy to use, can set up to six currencies on the home page.

"Line"  I know there are privacy issues but great for free messaging and photo sharing along with very usable voice and video calling; others may be just as good but Line is the most universally used in Thailand along with Facebook Messenger.  One downside is you can not have the same Line account on multiple devices though there is a PC version you can sync with a mobile device. PIA to change devices.

"Google News"  Frequently updated world and local news.

At least one mindless game like "Jewels" or "Suduko"...sometimes you just need one.

Puffin (Browser)

Chicog:  What advantages does the Puffin browser have over Chrome or others?

Are there ever problems with airline or banking apps?

LINE, Skype, Yahoo Mai

German/Thai dictionary (a paid app, won't name it here, much superior to Google et.al.)

Simplenote (kind of sticky notes)

VLC

EDS Lite (a Truecrypt implementation for my electronic safe)

RealCalc (perfect appeal of a pocket calc, indispensable for shopping)

Here We Go

Google Maps / Street View

Google Translate (as an addition for German/English e.g.)

ES File Explorer

The rest are gadgets (Magnifier) or games.

Quora so I actually get a bit smarter when wasting time on my phone :P

Contacts+ as an excellent contacts/dialer replacement
SeriesGuide so I never miss an episode of favorite TV shows

Zedge for finding nice wallpapers, ringtones, etc

And of course Facebook, Line, Whatsapp, etc...

I just like Puffin's speed dial; I've used other browsers with that and they keep losing the bookmarks.

It doesn't affect apps, and I don't do banking on mobiles, none of them are that secure.
