BANGKOK: -- The hunt is on for a crazy knifeman who has attacked at least two people in unprovoked  attacks near a university in Din Daeng, Bangkok.

In the latest attack in Soi Prachasongkhro 27 a 28 year old Kamphaengphet man on his way home was attacked with a one foot long knife, reported Daily News. He was stabbed in the chest and is recovering in hospital after losing a finger that could not be reattached.

The attack was completely random - Sombat Prong-Orn said that he was on his way home from a gaming shop when a man jumped out and attacked him for no reason.

Police found Sombat lying in the road on Sunday evening - he had fled the attacker fearing for his life.

The knifeman had fled the scene.

But this was not the first attack. A Facebook post was made on the page of 'Sony Bastien' on Friday after reports that a person was attacked by a man with a knife outside an eyewear shop in the same area.

The victim was only slightly hurt but the poster issued a warning that the soi was dangerous especially with so many people walking back to lodgings late from the Hor Karn Kha University there.

But nothing was done by police as it seems there was no official report.

Now Region one commander Sompong Chingduang has ordered Din Daeng police to find out what is going on in the area and catch the knifeman.

They have uncovered CCTV footage of the attacker who looks like a 30-35 year old man wearing t-shirt and shorts.

They have confirmed that the attack was unprovoked.

There will be no justice whatsoever as long as an irate loonatic man will stand with a knife to destroy those who are weaker than he is.

String him up :coffee1:

Hope the police catches him and charges him for attempt to murder.

Wonderful ,police not do nothing untill told to find him by a high ranking plod

kin unbelievable isnt it:blink:

They always have to be told, to afraid  to use any initiative as thats the system, works well I see

Good luck with that one in a country where there are 'crazy knifemen' around almost every corner.  Do they have enough prisons to put them all in ?

Obviously they have to have at least 2 or more plain cloths police men, armed with guns, loaded and ready to fire if need be and patrolling the area and hopefully draw out the crazy man and arrest him.
