webfact
Thai muslims call for justice after falling for Ponzi scam in far south Image: Sanook SADAO: -- A group of Thai Muslims have gone to police in the Sadao after they were conned out of 58 million baht by a man operating a Ponzi scheme in the area. There are expected to be about 30 victims of the con. Many of the victims know each other, reported Sanook. The complaint names a man called Ahama, 55, who hails from either Patani or Sadao. A Muslim himself, he approached locals intimating they would get special treatment because of their faith. The con centers around putting up money from the mortgaging of property for the promise of good interest rates. Rates promised were paid for a short while but after some time this stopped, the lump sums were not repaid and Ahama disappeared from the scene. Victims had invested anything from 100,000 baht to several million. Source: Sanook -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2016-08-

Moonmoon
Very easy to con thais. Again n again this sort of conning is always on the news n ppl never learn. High returns promised and the 1st few installments r always returned back with high interest to gain trust of victim. Then when victim pumps in more money n also other victims who see its easy to make some fast cash starts to throw their life savings in as well n after a few months the scammer disappears
