September 1, 20169 yr There's an article on Mashable that shows how to send an SMS text message to a phone using email: http://mashable.com/2014/06/16/text-from-laptop/#yTSVzzmT6Eqm If you know your friend's phone number and cellphone provider, you can easily deliver a text through email. Combine your recipient's 10 digit phone number with one of these domains: Alltel: @message.alltel.com (or @mms.alltelwireless.com for picture messages) AT&T: @text.att.net Sprint: @messaging.sprintpcs.com T-Mobile: @tmomail.net Verizon: @vtext.com (or @vzwpix.com for photos and video) Anyone know if this can be done in Thailand? If so, what are the providers' domains?
September 9, 20169 yr I assume you want to originate an SMS via email, and have it delivered to a mobile phone in Thailand as an SMS? Ages ago (10-15 years) some of the mobile carriers here had email-SMS gateways. I think those have been shuttered for eons. There are some paid SMS service providers which allow you to originate (and receive/reply) an SMS as an email. Typically you buy credits. Obviously all this ancient technology has been eclipsed by free messaging apps, like LINE, WhatsApp!, et al. Maybe you could just give an example or two of what it is you're trying to do. Providing as much detail as possible helps. FWIW, the tmomail.net email still works in the U.S.

Actually, it wasn't me who is trying to do it I belong to a computer help group and one of the guys talked about it and gave the link to the Mashable article in my original post. I was just curious if it could be done here, in Thailand.
