Residents of Copenhagen's Christiania demolish cannabis huts after shooting

Residents of Copenhagen’s so-called free town of Christiania began tearing down stalls selling cannabis.

It comes two days after a shooting in which two police officers and a civilian were injured during an attempt to arrest a drug-dealer in the Danish capital.

One policeman is still in a critical condition.

The suspected gunman was arrested, but died of injuries sustained during his capture.

Speaking for the residents of Christiania, Risenga Manghezi explained that they wanted to “remove the stalls, and very strongly condemn the serious violence that has become a reality here in Pusher Street,” and he added, “to send our thoughts to the policeman and his family.”

Residents of the self-proclaimed autonomous neighbourhood set up in 1971 by hippies who occupied an abandoned barracks, fear their liberal drugs culture has been overrun by organised crime gangs.

It only takes a couple of real butt-holes to screw-up the works for everybody else. Regardless, Copenhagen remains one of the top-ten best metropolitan locations on the planet, in my opinion.

Thanks for sharing. The Danes rank among some of the coolest people I've  ever known, in my lifetime.

Shame on the idiot that is spoiling it for them.

Nothing about cannabis, this was an ISIS terrorist attack, and has been confirmed as such. Taking down stalls selling a common relaxant will do nothing to end these terrorist spectaculars - even though it makes a wonderful diversion from reality.

Not sure about that yet:

But they said there was no evidence that extremism was behind the attack.

.....

Although IS regularly claims to be behind such attacks, analysts say there is often no evidence initially to support those claims.

A less extreme (than the BBC) news outlet titled the story " Denmark : Muslim migrant shoots three non-muslims for the Islamic State"

From the article “He apparently has ties to [militant Islamist group] Millatu Ibrahim and sympathies for IS,” police said in a statement, using one of the many names for the Islamic State terrorist group.

So he is muslim, belongs to muslim supremacist terror groups, and murdered three non-muslims. Sounding very much like mental health isuues.

No Craig, you are wrong.   You are very, very wrong.   Don't you read Thaivisa?  Everything in the world that goes wrong is directly related to Islam and to ISIS.   Before Islam, we all held hands and sung an early version of Kumbaya.

Whether the perpetrators were Muslim or not, I don't know, but Islam has been pretty tolerant of weed.   It is certainly not the lightening rod that alcohol is in the Islamic world.

Nothing to do with Islam. :whistling:

The Belgian sports centre explosion

Or the Brussels bus stabbings

Or the ......

You get the picture.

So which less extreme news outlet are you talking about?

Wouldn't be "jihadwatch" by any chance would it?

Yeah, they sound really impartial

Never said there wasn't a problem with IS/Islam/etc.  Just that initial reports have not confirmed this was done by IS.  A nut job who happens to be Muslim?  OK.  We've got nut jobs from every religion.

The most tedious boring country I have ever been to for a holiday. Lifeless-joyless-souless-miserable. I could not wait to get out and won't go back.

but Islam creates more because of its teachings, it's method of teaching and interbreeding. do not compare the lifestyle choice death cult of islam with other religions.

the community was founded by recreational drug users - please don't be silly with terms like druggie- it's not clever and not grown up.

A bunch of happy people got together and formed a community, and obviously they're pretty upset. Why? Cos of Islamists. You're latest immigrants always form the core of the new underworld. It's nothing new - the Italians famously did it (mafia), the Irish, the Chinese (tongs), etc. etc. . I think something similar happened with the rave culture in the UK. This is nothing to do with religeon or race, it's about money, and opportunity (or the lack of it), and personal loyalties.

My cat just got fleas again , damn those Mussies , damn them !

During a normal week in Europe that saw several mass rape events in Sweden and Austria, the religious attacking of a policewoman and several other spectacular acts of savagery carried out in the name of islam( which maintains its steady takeover of western civilization) your sarcasm is misplaced. How about reading up on this weeks ME leaders praising and calling for more sex slaves and FGM. A dose of reality is in order.

Islam is a mental health issue.
