Nigerian drug gang member busted after stakeout in Bangkok

BANGKOK:-- Police have announced the arrest of a Nigerian man caught with 2 kilos of crystal meth in the Ram Intra area of northern Bangkok.

Several police districts were working on busting the Nigerian gang after a tip came in from an informer that a shipment of "ice" was being readied for sending to Indonesia and Turkey.

Officers from Thung Song Hong, Bang Khan and Tao Poon laid in wait near the end of Khu Bon Soi 6 on Sunday and saw a Honda car being driven to and fro in the soi.

They blocked any escape route for the car and went in to make an arrest.

However, the suspect managed to ditch the car and run off though he was soon chased down by the cops. Frank Usoma, 30, admitted that he was stuffing the drugs in water filters for export.

He was working for a Nigerian friend who paid him US 2,000 dollars a time.

He was remanded in custody ahead of processing by Kanayao police.

The edict not to parade suspects for the press issued by Prime Minister Prayut seemed to have not yet taken affect in this case as the Nigerian was pictured with the evidence collected in the bust.

I thought there was a new edict about publishing photos of suspects.

he's guilty not a suspect :)

Great pointing!

So we are seeing an undercover operation of plain clothed officers.

Great job.

Nigerians are a smart bunch to get one over on.

run off though he was soon chased down" ,by the thin cop at the back

I suspect.

regards Worgeordie

Looks like they spent a considerable amount of the stake out time at Dunkin' Donuts.

funny this. I know a guy in the province i live that is from Ghana and he is dealing with water treatment equipment..............hmmm

Presumably this collection of plain clothes policeman, who have just been splashed all over the media, have retired from any sort of undercover work......

Or was the lure of the cameras just too great?

Nigerian lives 3 doors down, seen him once in three years spends all his time in with the curtains drawn 24/7. I'm sure there is  perfectly good reason for it.

Detectives, who are by definition plain-clothed, are not the same as undercover officers!

Good point.

But why let it get in the way of a smart-ass remark at the expense of the Thai cops?

Maybe he doesn't like his nosy neighbors.

The PM ordered, with immediate effect, that police not parade suspects in front of the media. And note that this is not a new law, it was already the law for decades, but conveniently ignored.

Surely the generals' order means:

- The police must comply.

- The media must comply.

Why, again the police and the media ignore the law and the PMs instructions?

           - So much for police credibility.

           - So much for media credibility and already much touted media reform.

Why are you getting so worked up about this?

I am glad they are still posting photos.

The point in this photo contrasted against the znigerians hang-dog expression is priceless.

There is absolutely zero doubt this guy is guilty as charged.

Relax.

Wait and see.

It will be interesting to observe how this plays out.

It all depends on how much pressure the PM puts on the cops and media.

He can do it if he really wants to... he ain't no pussy.

Are there any honest Nigerians in Thailand?

Is protecting human rights and not parading suspects before the media for photo ops reserved for Thais only?  The abuse of all others seems to be business as usual or it was just more excrement coming from the mouth of Prayuth.

I am far more interested in the human rights of the young victims who were going to be exposed to these drugs.

He has admitted his guilt.

After all the stories of Nigerians committing crimes in Thailand one would hope that Immigration would be asking more questions at entry and keeping an eye on some of them during their stay.

So much for the respect that the little general commands.

I would hope they'd start making enquiries of ageing Brits and Americans on an international database of sex offenders and paedophiles and keeping an eye on them during their stay

Send him to the Philippines - Duterte will sort him out... :clap2:

I agree. This is the best pointing that I have seen in a long time.

You can almost visualize the finger wagging up and down in the perp's face.

his consent would have been obtained.

When are they going to stakeout Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok?

I do not know  why they allow a Nigerian in any other country anyway, there are two or three more countries from that part of the World that have more than their share of "ne'er do wells" !!

Drugs, human traffic, stealing almost any thing you can think of.

I am not Racism, after 81 years I am a Realist !!
