Drugging and robbery cases involving Middle-Eastern tourists continue.

Another case of drugging and robbery involving a Middle Eastern Man now, from the Pattaya Memorial Hospital who admitted Mr. Mohamed Ali Ghamari aged 26 from Iran in the early hours of Wednesday Morning. Doctors treated him for the effects of what they determined to be a sleeping tablet.

Mr. Ghamari explained that he had gone with a friend to Tony’s Discotheque on Walking Street and met a woman who he took back to his room in the Royal Twin Palace Hotel on Pattaya Second Road. Mr. Ghamari’s friend who is staying in the same room arrived a few hours later and noticed that his friend was unconscious on the bed and items of value had been stolen. A gold necklace worth 10,000 Baht, money, a wrist watch, a digital camera and three mobile phones were stolen.

This is yet another case where women who are not employed by a bar but work on a freelance basis have committed such crimes. We urge you to exercise caution if you decide to take such a person back to your Hotel room or home. Always keep a copy of their ID and never accept a drink from them and ensure that you never leave a drink unattended in their company.

This is the second story with that as the value of the gold chain today. A more cynical person would atribute this to lazy reporting, either of the evidence or of the story, or both.

It might change tomorrow; one baht gold chains cost about 10,000 baht and fluctuate with the price of gold. These drugging stories are becoming more common now; but usually Indian and Middle Easterners are targeted.

They share rooms because that's the way the tour operator booked the holiday for them. There is always an extra charge if you want a room to yourself. Simple really.
