Drug fugitive shot dead in a hail of bullets as he takes his wife hostage

Featured Replies

any decent shooter only needs one bullet,  the pics in the article show that he had exposed his body enough for one shot to take him out in multiple areas without harming anyone else, sounds more like cowboys than a swat team

You been watching too much dirty harry buddy. When there is potential of being killed when a desperate person has a gun, you mr Calm is going to pop him in the head. 5555

Very poorly handled a disgrace shooting the woman. These Thai police are amatures SWAT team funny.

Scamming Thais nothing new

Evidently rubber bullets, anaesthetic darts, capsicum spray and tasers are not part of  Thai police armory.

Even though it was apparently SWAT that ended the incident, these people are acting under enormous stress. The hostage taken would have been 'marked' from multiple sources, it only takes one person to discharge a weapon for a domino effect to occur by others not fully trained for restraint.

As for the head shot from a marksman, the sniper needs line of sight and authority for that, not sure if that was available.

and there must be a sniper and he would need a good and hidden position from where to shoot and a special rifle, not a pistol - I don't think they were prepared for that and I don't think they were prepared for a hostage situation - appearing with a littl army of 100 men ...

One wonders what training the soldier had having his pistol taken away in the safe house,

then you think about SWAT , does that mean special weapons and tactics, who"s skill in placing single shots away from the centre mass,

it all just seems to be a bit cowboy-ish,

Par for the course.

shot a the back. In any civilized country, there would be an investigation, we don't shoot in the back unless it is a self defense.

If you read the story it mentions he was firing at the cops. What more do you need to convince you he was killed in self defence ?

As for letting him escape from a safe house, well as someone else has said, hmmm

Drug fugitive shot dead, and no expensive trial.

Too bad his wife got injured, but she should be happy that

she is alive, and that her druggy husband did not kill her.

Police do the best that they can do in the situations they

have to face.  The police training academy is in Thailand, go and see it for your self

and when you do , please ask the police members what their

annual salaries are, you will be surprised.

Nor would they be the response of any Law Enforcement Agency anywhere when the bad guy has a real firearm that shoots real bullets.

Just where did the police shooters think the bullets would end up after passing through his body.

The perp was standing behind his wife and he was shot in the back.

Not true. The perp moved at the last moment. If you look at the last photo, look at the exterior wall behind the perp and hostage. The police were positioned to the left of the image around the corner of that exterior wall and when the perp moved in front of his wife and aimed the pistol towards the photographer then the police shot...
