HM the King’s conditions improved

BANGKOK: -- His Majesty the King’s health conditions have improved with blood and phlegm tests showing severe infection has eased and X-ray examination shows the amount of fluid in lungs has dropped and there is no trace of infection, the Bureau of the Royal Household announced on Wednesday night.

 

Heart examination by echocardiography indicates that the heart muscle is functioning satisfactorily but abdominal examination shows little amount of urine.

 

However, doctors at Siriraj hospital continue to administer antibiotic medication and CRRT on HM the King, according to the announcement.

Koh Samui mayor wants garbage producers to pay more if they produce more garbage

SAMUI: -- The mayor of Koh Samui has suggested that one of the ways to solve the chronic garbage problem on the resort island is to strictly enforce the law making people who produce the garbage to pay for its disposal in proportion with the amount of garbage.

Court rules demolition and burning of Karens’shelters in Kaeng Krachan by park officials lawful

BANGKOK: -- The Central Administrative Court has ruled that the demolition and burning of the shelters of six Karen tribesmen in the Kaeng Krachan national park by park officials were lawful but the six victims are entitled to compensation from the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plants Conservation.

Deputy PM: Section 44 will not be enforced to seize assets

  

BANGKOK, 8 September 2016 (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam has confirmed the government will not enforce Section 44 of the interim charter to seize assets in the rice pledging corruption case. However, he said the government was able to use the law to authorize the Law Execution Department to seize assets in compliance with an administrative order.
