ASEAN-China agricultural products and food on agenda between Thailand and China

BANGKOK, 8 September 2016 (NNT) – Thailand will discuss with China the ASEAN-China Agricultural Products and Food Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine Cooperation (SPS Cooperation).

Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Chatchai Sarikalya has assigned Witthaya Phewphong, assistant to the minister, to lead Thai representatives to the fifth Ministerial Meeting under the Memorandum of Understanding between ASEAN and China on SPS Cooperation from September 9-11, 2016, in China's Nanning City.

The meeting aims to strengthen the ASEAN-China Agricultural Products and Food Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine cooperation (SPS Cooperation) for which a Nanning Joint Statement will be made.

It will push forward the action plan to establish a concrete and continuous cooperation on ASEAN-China Agricultural Products and Food Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in order to avoid adverse impacts on farm goods trading between ASEAN and China.
