‘Blow them up and feed them to the sharks’: Duterte talks tough on pirates

Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte will allow Indonesian maritime authorities to enter Philippine waters when chasing pirates.

“We can make it clear that if the chase begins in Indonesia and continues in international waters, and inside Philippine waters, they can go ahead and blast them off,” the Philippine leader said yesterday.

Duterte has been in Jakarta meeting his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo where the issue of piracy came up – the region has become a global hotspot, largely thanks to Philippine Islamist group, Abu Sayyaf targeting smaller ships in the Sulu and Celebes seas.

The report is missing a key element. The pirates dont flee to Phils waters because they like to take a cruise. Phils islands are their home base and despite all tough talking Phils politicians before and now Dudirty they Phils have no control over their territory. Worse, the only significant success against those gangs came when MNLF (Moro National Liberation Front) forces started an offensive against them. In others words, the strongest Muslim faction took care of the problem with the Phils forces standby scratching their b... with their unwashed hands.

The announcement is also an admission by Dudirty that he much talked about strong measures in the Sulu archipelago are far from showing results.

 

Let's home less people get kidnapped and murdered.

 

I wonder when journalist start mounting their microphones close to Dudirty's butt. The sounds produced there wont make less sense and from the other foul opening.
