Do I Need An Appointment To Get My Baby`s British Passport?

Featured Replies

Hi I am looking to get my 10 month old baby her 1st passport, I would like to go and do it myself in bkk as I have just been quoted 10,000bht by a local visa service company,(£217) and then told me its only £76 to do yourself !

firstly where do I need to go?

Secondly do I need an appointment? If so how do I book one?

thirdly is there a deadline for me to do it? I was recently told its 12 months to avoid problems

thanks

You do it at Trendy building in Bangkok.  Yes, you need an appointment.  Go here and everything will be clear....https://www.gov.uk/overseas-passports

There is no 12 months deadline, it can be done by you at any age before 16. At age 16 they are considered an adult and need to apply themselves.

I got my son his UK passport in Bangkok when he was 9 months old. Very straightforward as long as you have your long-form birth certificate and his.

attended my appointment, went well, no queue at all and let us in an hour early.

they told us we didnt need birth certificates but now the UK are asking for both parents`.

bit of a pain, as my wife didnt even know she had one, so hunting that down!
