Want to replace the gate at the house.  Looked all over but can't find a business that sales gates here.  Can someone help point me in the right direction?  Anyone with an actual website?

Prices?

Thanks in advance.

You are talking about a driveway gate?  This will likely be a local maker without a web site - best to ask around if you have not seen such an establishment.  Most people would be willing to advise where they bought there gate if you see something you like.  If not SS the local metal work shop likely makes them to order.

Do not believe it would be a full time job up there - even here in Bangkok most is done by part time metal shops if not SS or Alloy type - the same shops that would make window bars. iron roofs and doors and such.

Makes sense.  I see so many homes with gates that look 20 years old so your probably right in that it's probably not something someone does full time.   Thanks again.

I see several shops on my drive to town, usually with the shiny chrome stuff, but since I am not in the market I really haven't taken notes on where they are.  Sorry about that.

No worries.  Before I was just thinking about it but now I really want to talk to someone so I'll spend some time on Saturday asking around and stopping at different places.  Someone will provide me with some intel, hahaha.  Thx.

The shops are definitely out there and doing good business from what I can tell.  Just yesterday I was laughing at an attempt to secure a very long segment into the bed of a small pickup truck.  It looked like more than half the length was hanging out the back of the truck.  It looked far too wide to rest over the cab as well.  I was only passing by so don’t know what they end up doing.

The chrome would be stainless steel which is in favor now.  Before that it was alloy (the blackgold colored gates) although the much cheaper and old style iron gates will last well if made of round stock instead of the normal square iron (to avoid rust at 90deg bends) and can look good if painted every few years.

The fact that the length and height requirements of gates is flexible usually means that many  have to be custom made unless you buy the gate first and build the wall/fence  and gateway to fit.
