ACM Prajin presents policy to officials at Ministry of Digital Economy and Society

  

BANGKOK, 21 September 2016 (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister Air Chief Marshal Prajin Juntong presented a policy guideline to civil servants at the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society after its recent establishment. 

ACM Prajin, who serves as acting Digital Economy and Society Minister, explained during the policy presentation that five state agencies will be working under the newly-formed ministry. 

They comprise the Office of the Minister, the Office of the Permanent Secretary, the Meteorological Department, the Office of the National Committee on Digital Economy and Society, and the National Statistical Office. 

The deputy prime minister added the Office of the Digital Economy will serve as a secretary of the National Committee on Digital Economy and Society. 

ACM Pajin further stated that the work of the ministry is to provide Thai people with equal access to public services via an online platform called ‘E-Government’, develop data connectivity to improve Thailand’s competitive edge and increase the efficiency of the country’s natural disaster warning systems. All of these are expected to be achieved within next year. 

He also presented the ministry’s vision which states ‘the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society serves as a major mechanism for moving digital economy in a sustainable way and improving the quality of life of the people as well as increasing the country’s competitiveness in international arenas’.
