TAK: -- A picture of a woman bathing in a man-sized pothole in the middle of the road in Tak province went viral this week. Apparently, her natural mud bath was for a good cause.

The woman, who Sanook reported to be a 25-year-old model named “Palm,” decided to take a protest bath after having enough of the condition of her hometown’s roads in Mae Ramat district.

Palm, who works in Bangkok, said that she comes home often to visit family and has to drive through these potholes.

Good for her - and shes very pretty :) So good for her on that front as well :)

Never underestimate the value of a pothole!IMG_20160915_104132.jpg

Bringing happiness to the people?

This reeks of wife or long term girl friend.

I think it would be more impressive if she lost the bath towel and shower hat.

And she just happens to be a model.

Hmm !

Please read the news. Mission Accomplished!

i would like to bring the soap and join her

my luck  be then hit by a bus

i might stop by on the drive thru and ask if a quick soapy is possible:sleep:

she can share my bathroom anytime

I'm sure a photo of a bunch of farangs from TV having a soapy with her in that big pothole would have a greater national impact...

...anything for attention...

fappery fap ^_^

Trying to forget about the model for a moment , the one road (single lane each way) leading to a National Park (and my old home) in Mae Wong looked exactly like that  until some repairs were carried out recently.  Unfortunately, for some reason the repairs cover certain stretches of the road but not others, so it is still necessary to keep changing lanes in order to avoid a broken axle. or in the case of motor cycles, a broken neck. I am thinking of inviting Bill Gates to come along for a visit as clearly his comments have far more impact than those of the people who actually live there. The repairs I mentioned were carried out only after adverse comments appeared on TV following a visit by a TV personality, whose car was damaged by one of the potholes.

More Thais need to do this.  Stand up to the corruption that creates infrastructure problems here.  A select few get rich while the vast majority suffer.

Congrats!

A road near me - Asian Highway 16 so no backstreet - was widened and within a few weeks it was almost impassable. It cost 35 million to re-do it, and a few months later some of it is impassable again. Just tarmac laid on sand from what I can see, so what do they expect.

These numerous potholes are ideal breeding habitats for Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, and human habitation  is so often well within the minimum 1 km flying range of the mosquitoes who hatch from them.

Congrats!

Or as in this case sit down

Mate of mine lives on a road like this in Fang and all the locals have been complaining about it for two years.  Then it was decided that a member of a certain family would be visiting along with 9 Helicopters full of hangers on/security etc and lo and behold in the three weeks leading up to the visit all local roads in the area were resurfaced.   As per normal for Thailand a certain section of society are looked after whilst the rest of 'The People' get the left overs.

That's not a pothole !

This is a pothole !

no, that is too much free time.

Defamation! Throw her in jail for mocking the government!

Or was it a TAT promotional stunt?

I always take a bath in a pothole...nothing like a good pothole for taking a bath. Why are you laughing...it's perfectly natural and normal human behaviour!

Time for a whisky and a neighbourly chat...whilst in my favourite pothole.

I could shower with her anytime !

I'm sure that Ash'felt' quite happy with her perched in his shoulder

I can see a new Pond Cream advert coming on

I'll suggest someone who wants publicity to help in her career.

i  APPLAUD ANY Thais  efforts to push the retards n charge to get off their fat <deleted> and do their job. Ive  fixed the roads round by me before now to have  some locals  complain its " not my job" yet only 2  days ago in the  village  outside  a house where they were having a party they filled in  some  holes. I should  have called the head  of  village, taken photos and complained its " not their  job" but it is one law for them one for us.

The  way they  fill them is throw in loose  stones making it even more dangerous  for a motorbike to skid on, at least i used concrete
