DEPUTY Prime Minister and Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwan

BANGKOK:-- DEPUTY Prime Minister and Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwan Friday expressed no concern over a move for an investigation into contracts between a nephew of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and the Army, saying it would not affect the premier.

"The PM has worked so hard in the past and what he has done has benefited the country. We, the government, intentionally work for the people," he said.

He has every reason to be unconcerned as there won't be any probe and even if someone went through the motions of a supposed investigation the outcome will be known in advance.

Total arrogance by people who know they're above it all as they make laws and rules for others to obey.

"We, the government, intentionally work for the people," he said.

Tell that to my wife, you do <deleted> all for her!

Intentionally work for SOME of the people.

Unconcerned !! yes we are not concerned because whatever the outcome, we are to arrogant to take notice.

What the worst that can happened he thinks for himself? inactive post? ban from

politics from few years, while he keeps his ill gained loot?

Just when you thought that for once, the PM seems to be above corruption

and actually dose what he preaches, comes this nagging nepotism crap..

they just can't help themselves do they?.....

I'd rather read that he was extremely concerned, because even the appearance of corruption or nepotism is unacceptable, and those fig leaves were part of the fake reasons for launching the - erm - 'movement' that led the current incumbents taking power.

Nothing has changed.

What a great point ! Wouldn't it be refreshing to hear him, or any official, say of course they're concerned as although there's no substance to the complaint they don't want any suggestion of wrongdoing to taint the wonderful work they do or some such BS ?

Instead it's just a totally arrogant dismissal and no doubt resentment and total disbelief that anyone would dare challenge them.

Yes its a big shame.. hope they launch a real probe.. could be all good but it has to be investigated. My money is on that there is something wrong. However not sure the NACC has the balls to really investigate, or if they have that there is an evidence trail.

Well when the NACC is under direct power of the government you can't really expect a serious investigation right? (eg. Rajabhakti Park)

The NACC has always been under the power of the government. Do I expect a serious investigation.. not sure. Could be that the evidence is gone already then even if they investigate its hard to prove anything. Or (not that I think its true) there might not be anything wrong at all and bidding went accordingly.

I really dont know what to expect, because its always hard to investigate things. If they are smart they made sure there is no evidence and then even a good investigation wont yield anything.

Like you correctly said NACC is always been under government, and never found anything against government... Despite actors are changed, nothing has changed, so nothing to see here... Sadly.

Is it possible that Prawit is unconcerned because it's Prayut nephew? Perhaps there is some internal fracture forming between both of them with each in opposite faction. Surely he also aspire to be PM. No one question or talk about investigating the mole in the internal circle that leak out those damning news last few days.

Your right not enough real changes.. though a lot of corruption cases have gone to court and a lot of land reclaimed. Far more as ever (real good thing). Bad thing is that they still don't investigate themselves. Though.. more then previous governments.. else Suthep his son and Sondi would not have been in court.

But it is still not enough.. now the army needs to be checked too.

Isn't this is what section 44 is for?

Make nasty things go away and to deal with people who talk about nasty things.

"However, the NACC has yet to decide whether to act on the petition."

Effectively meaning the great leader has to decide on whether to act on accusations against himself - Tough call, can't imagine what the outcome of that will be

This regime has that little group of semi retired generals.  This small group is feasting as over there careers they have seen unworthy police grow rich. Now it is Prayut, Preecha and his mate Prawit. Veterans in there own right. Meanwhile bring happiness to yourself Thais. To late where here digging for gold.

Why should he be worried,,,,It's not his Family,,,
