PATTAYA: -- At 5pm, on the afternoon of September 27, Pattaya police arrested Ms Usa Aiemsa-ard, (35) and Ms Malinee Sae-Tang (27) and charged them with theft. A motorbike involved with the crime has been impounded.

Syria says truce still viable after week of airstrikes

BEIRUT (AP) — Syria's foreign minister said Monday that an internationally-brokered cease-fire is still viable, as rescue workers in Aleppo sifted through the rubble from the heaviest airstrikes on rebel-held areas of the northern city in five years.

PHUKET: -- A delegation of key Chinese officials in Thailand met with Phuket officials yesterday (Sept 26) to discuss tourism concerns and safety issues in the hope of reducing the number of Chinese tourists killed or injured in accidents on both sea and land while on holiday in the Andaman region.

More rains and runoff from Northern floods to aggravate flooding situation in Central Plains

BANGKOK: -- As more rains are expected throughout this week, current flooding in several provinces located in the Chao Phraya River basin, especially along irrigation canals and levees, are expected to deteriorate after the Chao Phraya Dam now is forced to reduce its water load in preparation for runoff from the north.

Double hit-and-run leaves one dead, one injured in Phuket

PHUKET: -- Police are currently investigating a hit-and-run incident in Srisoonthorn early this morning (Sept 27) which involved two vehicles and left one man dead and a second injured.

ADB projects strong growth in Thailand and across Asia

  

BANGKOK, 27 September 2016 (NNT) – Asia Development Bank (ADB) has forecast the Asian economy will expand 5.7 percent this year while adjusting its outlook for Thailand to an increase of 3.2 after seeing 3.4 percent in expansion during the first half.

Government hopes to track elephant population through mandatory DNA samples
