BANGKOK: -- Former foreign minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul has urged former Democrat MP Atthavit Suwanpakdee to investigate alleged water mismanagement by agencies of the incumbent government and to supply the information to the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

The core member of the Pheu Thai party said that several residential areas and farmland are now being flooded apparently because of the mismanagement of water by the authorities concerned. For that matter, he added that the government of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha should be held accountable.

Mr Surapong praised Mr Atthavit for his ability to come up with detailed information the water situation in various dams during Abhisit administration before the Big Flood in 2011.

BANGKOK: -- Key Pheu Thai figure Surapong Tovichakchaikul has called for science-based proof to be used in determining whether water mismanagement was party to blame for the 2011 flood disaster during the Yingluck government’s term.

Obviously got a kick up the bum from the boss for his inactivity of late.

Looking like that, it would be hard to know which end to kick.

did i get that right? he wants the general and the current government investigated for water mis management? doubt he will get very far with that.  good luck to him for trying. if there is any investigation then i am sure the current government will be cleared.

The flood crisis they are on about covered the reign of 2 governments that were worried about an election at the time.

I wonder if either government were given accurate and understandable briefings  by the bureaucracy?

It can be had to make an informed decision without the correct information.  You can bet the bureaucrats will not be found lacking in any inquiry.

As they say in the air force they have a missile lock on Yingluck its game over. Just the fact that she had not taken office at the time the flooding occurred is irrelevant. She is the flavor of the month, the donkey in the "pin the tail on the donkey" game. Petitioning the PM falls on deaf ears.

Too bad they can't bear to have outside help for anything.  The education is getting worse, so that makes the country's outlook very dire indeed
