Pattaya is all about filth…literally and figuratively.

I like filth….in two week doses.

Deal with it.

I thought the title was referring to the tourists!  :shock1:

Pattaya used to be so clean ,well 20 years ago i can remember walking down beach road and seeing the raw sewidge  running into the sea over the beach at times .

I don't go back that far, but I have talked with folks that recall that.  Those little drainage troughs on the side of Soi 7, Soi8, for example didn't just carry rain water!

The locals will just look at it and say mai pen rai and have another picnic on a mat on the beach and leave all their trash behind. Then same same tomorrow.

Sailed to Bangpakong River not long ago, on the way we had to avoid an 'island" of about 2 miles across, even showed on radar, consisting of all kinds of garbage and floatsome. A Thai aboard told us it is all rubbish collecting due to currents and coming down the big rivers. Horrendous. Sad to see the environmental ignorance here. MS>

Too true, at one time at both ends. Second Rd also had an open sewer channel that stank.

I was at a Thai beach near a yacht launch and beach. I saw rubbish on beach and picked it up. There was a bin to my surprise. The Thai staff looked at me from restaurant in shock. There is your answer. They do not care. Sad for them and the planet we live on.

theres a lot of factories on those rivers and they are obviously used as rubbish dumps, you can google search the brands involved and usually find their factories. depends on the wind rain and tides and weather if it lands on pattaya beach
