Hi

Today I'm here to share my great experience getting non-B inThai Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City . This place is absolutely the best one to get a visa.

Last time I got my non B in Singapore but I had to re-visit them 4 more times as they kept rejecting it.

Singapore is VERY strict to give out visas and you have to queue over 1 hour whenever you go.

They even rejected me once because the invitation letter is stating inappropriate word?!  (like, It had to have a word 'consult' instead of 'work' something like that...)

Anyway, comparing to the embassy in SG, Ho Chi Minh consulate is really awesome and easy.

So yesterday I applied non-b 'to conduct the business' in TH. And requirements are almost same as other countries and it clearly said that I have to be the resident of VN, which I'm not.

But as I'm already on a business trip to here, I just wanted to try. There's no long queue and she screened my papers quickly and said it's approved.

So I asked her to make it sure that I'm not a resident of VN, are you sure I can get it? And she didn't even care. Other than that, my documents were still missing some part as I actually didn't expect it would work here, I didn't prepare things 100%. But I have Non-B now :) Also, even website says it takes 2 working days but  it only took 1 day.

She is very friendly, always smiling, even the security guy who is opening the door was extremely friendly!!!!!!

If you guys have to go somewhere to get Non-B, I absolutely recommend HCM consulate.

My experience of the HCMC consulate has also been excellent. I am a little surprised, though, that they were not strict about requirements. My impression has been that they are efficient and friendly, but do want to go by the book.

I previously got a SETV visa from Ho Chi Minh City. and as i repord they were fair but strict in keeping the applicant to their requiremrnts.

For example thry insisted I must pay in U.S. dollars for the fee, they would not accepy Virnamese Dong in payemrnt.

They gave me one break, because I did not have the 10,000 Baht to show them in cash they required, but i had a Bangkok Bank passbook showing over 300K Baht in the acount.

They questioned that, but they did accept the passbook as evidence that I had funds to live in Thailand for my proposed stay.

That is why I called them "strict to keep to the rules they stated", but fair and willing to adapt slightly if it made sense to them.

As i was told by the person who took my application....it is the consulate  offficer who makes the final decision on who is actually approved.

That is why it takes 24 hours until you get your pasport back with  either sn approved visa or not.

Fair enough.

You are lucky, I also tried to get an ED visa during a touristic trip there a few years ago and they didn't even accept my documents as it was only for Vietnamese residents. I could only do a SETV.

I think the situation now is different. I get the impression that they can deal with the majority of visa types now with correct documentation.

Hi,

Did you apply for a Single Entry Visa or Multiple Entries Visa?

I'm looking at the information at

http://www.thaiembassy.org/hochiminh/en/services/54612-Non-Immigrant-Visa-B----To-Conduct-Business-in-T.html

you still needed to show the list of "Corporate documents of associated partners/companies in Thailand" ?

Hi,

I got single. I wanted to have multiple, but they said I can change it at the airport later. (Seems like they only give out S?)

Our company is under BOI, and I only brought our company registration paper and BOI approved letter. And no I didn't bring "Corporate documents of associated partners/companies in Thailand".
