If your current visa expires before you're return from Vietnam you should have no problem getting a 30 day Visa Exempt Entry.

If your visa has expired (the enter before date on the visa has passed) just ignore it as far as analyzing your situation. You want to know if a UK citizen can get a 30-day visa exempt entry on arrival in Thailand. The answer is yes.
