Palmy's potholes patched up - but Prayut promised punishment, says mum

TAK: -- The case of the model who appeared in pictures having a bath in a potholed Tak road seems to have had the desired effect.

But the mother of Palmy - who is actually a lady boy - says she is not happy with what her "daughter" did, reports Thairath.

She said that she was told that Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha got involved in the case behind the scenes and threatened to punish the local officials.

There was quite a gathering at the Ban Ton Pheung - Ban Teen That road yesterday as local district chief of roads Nathawut Thaweekeuakunkit declared the work finished on a 200 meter stretch.

He said the work was part of 1.9 million baht of repairs in the locality of the north western province of Tak.

But while Palmy's mum was happy for the villagers who have a nice new stretch of road she played down the role of her "daughter" who also goes by the name of Athicha, 25.

Mum Songheuan, 45, said it was not "Nong Palmy's" doing that the road was repaired. Palmy had only caused trouble for the local authority after she said they were threatened with punishment from the prime minister over the matter.

I'm surprised Palmy didn't get punished for causing embarrassment which equates to criticism.

That will come in good time.

Criticizing the junta is a crime now is it not??

There's a few roads around here that a person could not just sit n take a bath in but actually do lap's in,  meanwhile back at the zoo, the local officials have organized their week away to attend a "seminar" at Phuket at the public's expense and no I'm not taking the p*ss...

Road maintenance is negligible here; it's not just potholes (they've just fixed one off Thepprasit that you could hide a pick-up in) but lighting.  I travel back from Pattaya twice a week during the hours of darkness and there are always stretches of Sukhumvit where the lights have failed.  Spotting a speeding motor bike with no back lights is impossible.  Why do police never check rear lights when milking victims at road blocks?

So we can add potholes to the issues the PM micro-manages but major issues such as recent highly suspect matters involving family and squandering public money on a jolly to Hawaii are simply dismissed yet he expects to be taken seriously.

"who is actually a ladyboy"

The officials are not the only ones who will be feeling a little  embarrassed.

half of Thai Visa expressed a desire to take a soapy with her.

Oh dear, remember not knowing, as in ignorance, is no excuse

Regardless of her gender, she got the job done, full credit for that. A woman with balls in more than one respect

Ahhh...that 'lost of face'!

And the truth behind it...

Was it not you in another post about villagers using sarcasm to get road work done ?

"Why go into sarcasm? Go back five years or less to see who most of you sold your votes to in local elections... "   It looks as though sarcasm is working, especially if it gets the attention of the jowly, unelected PM.

The truth behind it - vote buying and selling...

Interesting...........immaculate conception???

This sentence can be read two ways, except the dash is the eqivalent of a comma. I assume you're joking, but it's dear Palmy in the Puddle that turns out to be equipped with bat and balls.

eg.(But the wife of Prayut - who is actually the Prime Minister.....)

on the surface it looks like the problem has been fixed (for now) and all is well. but you know why the mum is so upset? because the ladyboy son has caused the local officials to loose face so life may be tricky for them in the future. they should have just put up with the pot holes.

Im sure in due time, the local officials will get their revenge on Palmy for causing such major loss of face.

If Palmy doesn't actually live there and was only visiting then poor old mum is likely to cop it.

And why is there no planned regular checking that street / highway lighting is working? My understanding is that in many countries the appropriate authorities have all of this on screen. A friend just telling me, in his country:

- When a light fails it shows up instantly on a master screen,

- Automatically the appropriate on the ground supervisor is informed electronically.

- If the 'failed' indicator on the master screen does not revert to 'working' within a short period (maybe 4 hours, not sure about the time), then an electronic message goes automatically to a district chief engineer, or something like that.

One of the multitude of problems here. Meek people afraid to challange the officials, like the mom in this tale. Katoy takes the points home.

" Meek people afraid to challange [sic] the officials, "

Not a problem. As this thread demonstrates, you can join Thai Visa and bravely post pages of childish drivel anonymously.
