10 suspects apprehended in predawn raids at Hua Mark, Ramkhamhaeng

 

 

BANGKOK: -- A combined force of over a hundred heavily armed commandos and metropolitan police raided nine targets in Hua Mark area on Ramkhamhaeng road early today and apprehended 10 suspects for questionings.

 

The raids at suspected targets came as the capital was placed on full alert to look out for suspected southern militants following reports that they plan to launch car bomb attacks in Bangkok and its peripherals during October 25-28.

 

Some of the suspects apprehended already have been on the wanted list of security authorities for national security threat.

 

All were later escorted to the Metropolitan Police Bureau’s Division 4 for interrogation.

 

Earlier yesterday Pol Gen Srivara Rangseepromnakul, the deputy national police chief, called an urgent meeting of senior police investigators of Metropolitan Police Bureau, Provincial Police Bureau 2 and 7, Immigration Police Bureau, the Central Investigation Bureau and the Special Branch to map out measures to deal with the reported threat.

Seriously, this sounds unprecedented. Seems that the conflict in the south is entering a new phase. Let's all hope that this is not the case.

^^^ Well the IRA brought the fight to the mainland UK, I know, I was involved in the aftermath of some of it. Lets just hope that they can nip it in the bud, so to speak.

no  effort  is too small or too big to combat terrorism. additionally it is also the responsibility of all citizens to assist the authorities in what ever way they can e.g.  by providing feedback on suspicious activities which they might notice. it is the problem of everybody and only combined efforts can attempt to fight terrorism.
