i'm bulgarian and got a thai visa from thai embassy in berlin germany. they told me it's good for a 60 days stay in thailand.

on bkk airport i got a stamp which says it's good for 30 days.

i called the thai embassy in germany today, they said, it's a mistake. an immigration could easily correct it.

visited kantang immigration today, they say, the visa is good for a 30 day stay.

i called the thai embassy in germany again, they insisted on 60 days.

went back to the immigration, they still claim it's 30 days.

why do even thai authorities have no ideas about their laws?

any recommendation? my vacation will be almost 40 days.

German nationals get permission to stay 60 days when entering with a tourist visa but some others, including Bulgarians, only 30. However, for a fee of 1,900 Baht you can extend your stay by 30 days at any immigration office. Strange that the Kantang immigration office did not tell you that.

As said a tourist visa entry can be either 60 days or 30 days but all allow extensions at 1,900 baht each from immigration to a total of 90 days under normal conditions. The Embassy was giving you the information for nationals of the country they serve. Your passport only allows a 30 day initial entry. So you will need new photos and 1,900 baht to extend for another 30 days at immigration.
