Bra Sizes

Featured Replies

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me posting this here....

I am hoping someone might be able to tell me the U.K. equivalent of a Thai bra size 34/175 so I don't get the wrong size when in the U.K.

Thanks in advance

bras are one of those garments that are always best to be tried on before buying, even the right size may not fit well or feel comfortable.

I guess some men may think it a good gift but few women I know think the same, at least not for normal stuff.

Lingerie for sleeping or special occasions are in another category than daily wear garments.

Agree with Gisele. The size is probably 34, but that doesn't really help you, as then you've got cup sizes, which can go from AA up to G (or more). 34 is really the measurement under the bust, it doesn't tell you anything about the size of the boobs.

Plus, in my own size, I still have to try bras on before buying as manufacturers seem to differ in their measurements. Then you have the problem of underwired or not, the shape the bra gives (different women like different shapes & amounts of uplift), how thick the straps are, the style... Really better not to go there without the lady in question with you. :o

It's true about bra sizes. My wife, depending on the make, will go from a 34 B to a 36 A.

My advice is to have your partner with you when buying , or, even if you are certain of the size, make sure you can return them to the store. for an exchange.

I agree with all comments above .. you need to try it before buying..

and the TH sizes is pretty bigger(by number) than some other places (as USA)

Example

In TH someone wears D cup ... It could be only "C" in USA

I ,myself wear sometime 34C or 34D depends on the bra's pattern

OP wants to buy it in the UK tho --sounds like perhaps the receiver won't be with him. My advice? Get her to give you a bra that fits her perfectly and bring it with you to compare when you go shopping.

Sounds kinda bizarre, I know, but it shows a grit and determination that is to be admired :o

Agree with sbk about bringing one with him. Buying a women underwear is a delicate minefield. Is the OP sure he is brave enough to venture in :o

dunno about the difference in sizes, all i know is i completely give up trying to find a bra that fits me in thailand. i am glad victoria's secret ships to thailand!

Have you done this before?

What if it doesn't fit?

I have given up buying bras here, buying lingerie was always something to cheer me up back home, (self-indulgence like buying Godiva chocolates or the like)

but here it is something that totally depressed me (I am 36C still the salesgirls always show me grand-ma bras, doesn't cheer me up at all)

Yeah, I am in the UK for few more days and yes, I did want to buy the lingerie in the UK to take back.

Other things like perfume and stuff that I was asked to bring is no real problem, is why I asked abt the bra size and I thought that the 175 might have referred to the cup size - but seems it is most likely a metric size.

I do know the difference between A,B, C cups etc., but this is as a surprise gift set.

Determination? Maybe LOL.

It may seem strange to some people as an item to buy for a woman, but I've never had a problem doing it in the past - bit then I knew it was a 34 B for example - and see nothing wrong with going to a lingerie shop to make a purchase, as long as it is not too garish or outrageous so as not to be worn. But a bra does need to fit - even as a man, I understand that and is why the information would have helped.

....... waiting for the weird comments now :D

yes i have ordered a couple of times with no problems, other than if they catch your package on the way, you might have to pay tons of customs fees.

i have been shopping at victoria's secret for years, so i know what styles fit me and which don't. but you can return or exchange them if you need to, just takes time.

Victoria secret is made here in thailand.

You need to check out the made in thailand fair at impact. They have quite a few of the made for export bra brands on sale, and they have the export sizes too. I saw a couple of bras that looked like they were D's.

by the way, are there other online retailers that might sell cheaper underwear than victoria's secret and will ship to thailand?

girlx, there is a UK online store which also has a US site (for sizing i suppose?) they charge £4 for worldwide delivery.

They go up to JJ cup size :o

u can always get a girlfriend of your wife/gf to look on the label of one bra that has a company name that u would find in england, and buy that brand... thats what we always did for shoes/bras etc....

now i just wear the girls sportsbra things so no prob... i'm about a 36AA and there are lots of lingerie type things that dont need a cup size like sportsbras but prettier/sexier; babydoll /camisole things that arent too playboy mag. style; that might be easier to buy as a set

Not from us ladies, I think you sound like a pretty good guy to be willing to hit the lingerie shop for your friend :D

Asked my staff and she thinks 175 is probably 75 cm and 1 could be an A cup :o

Does she look like an A cup? If so, then you could try the 75 cm into inches (sorry math isn't my forte).

good luck :D
