BANGKOK: -- Police called to a temple in Lat Prao, Bangkok, found part of a human leg wrapped up in a plastic bag.

It was left there by a deliveryman from a local hospital whose job it was to take human body parts for cremation, reports Daily News.

Now police are deciding whether a law has been broken or not.

The bizarre case began on Wednesday when a curious worker at the temple of Wat Lat Prao in Soi Lat Prao Wang Hin 23 looked inside three large, red plastic bags tied together,

When he found part of a human leg Samrerng Saeng-urai, 45, called in the Chok Chai 4 cops.

The bags were marked "Infected Hospital Refuse" so they decided to check at the nearest hospital - Paolo Memorial in Chok Chai 4.

There they spoke to Manatpong Saosanthat, 36, a deliveryman whose job it was to bring human body parts for incineration at the temple.

The leg part had been amputated from a patient with rickets. Manatpong said he had gone to the temple at 5am and fining no one about he left the leg in the plastic bag under the stairs of the crematorium. Then he went back to work.

He said he was going to come back in the evening but the bag was found first.

Police have yet to decide if a crime has been committed and no one has yet been charged.

No crime, unless of course he's Burmese

The inability to orchestrate a workable procedure is not a crime - it's a way of life.

Having said that, I doubt anyone will find any arm in this. (Sorry, couldn't resist)

No arm in it, just a bit of leg pulling.

"Infected Hospital Refuse"

Hospitals should manage their own waste.

Try to imagine a temple dog tearing open  that bag.........

The dog would have been very happy to get a bone WITH meat on it for a change

Why did nobody ask the deliveryman?

" Now police are deciding whether a law has been broken or not. "  After extensive and exhausting investigation, they have come to the conclusion that a leg has been broken.

Nightmare when you discovered the shop you had the wonderful beef soup had the stock made from the parts supplied by the hospital orderly.

Anything can happen in the LOS. It's just that it hasn't happen yet doesn't mean it will not happen.

In India, a woman murdered her husband and cooked curry with his body parts, grind up the bones and dump them down the drain. The cooked parts fed to the dog. The clogged drain led to the discovery.

The worker was putting his best foot forward...

of course a regulated waste management regulation was broken...improper control and disposal of a regulated waste stream...

but this is LOS where regulatory enforcement is weak or non-existent...
