Odd accusation to make against France when it's the Brits who are saying that they will be better off going it alone.

That might have been true 20 years ago when Alliance Francaise and others were perpetuating those myths, around the same time Mitterrand and Chirac were trying to stop the anglicisation of French by getting rid of Le Weekend and Le Specs and the like.

I doubt that the issues you raise resonate much with French voters today: they are far more concerned with economics and personal finances.

Hollande is signing the death warrant of the French Left: they will be in the wilderness for decades with his legacy.
