You will need to show a good record of paying Thai tax as well.

residency permits are given out by quota, max. 100 people of each nation a year.

most applicants are from china, second most from india.

I gather competition among chinese and indians is quite strong. you must present a nearly perfect case (high taxes, good background) to have a chance.
